Giving young people, particularly those with special needs, a sporting chance

LEGACY CHARITY DONATIONS

After a good innings,
pass your bat on to the next man in.

Please consider changing your will to leave a lasting legacy that will help us to continue making such a difference to young peoples lives.

We hope that you will see this as a worthwhile opportunity to help others. To illustrate how easy it is to make the necessary changes here is a testimony from our Chairman, John Hooper CBE:

"The obituary of Ron Sams MBE, mentioning his generous bequest to the Taverners, spurred me into action. How could I help the charity that has given me so much pleasure during my life, after I am gone? The answer . . . bequeath a minibus.

I found it was so easy to do. The charity gave me the option of sponsoring a minibus, supporting a cricket project, financing a special piece of sporting equipment or simply making a donation to support the work of the charity as a whole. This was the hardest bit deciding what to support!

After choosing to finance a minibus, I made a simple change to my will gifting an index-linked sum to the charity. The current cost for sponsoring a minibus is £20,000. It means my family will be able to dedicate in my name a minibus to help special needs children get a sporting chance for years to come. What a wonderful living legacy!"

You will not pay inheritance tax on any of the sum you donate to us in your will. The Inland Revenue produces several helpful leaflets on the subject T2 and IHT3.
