The Mike Gatting Lord’s Taverners Six-a-Side Trophy, Wormsley

The seventh annual Lord's Taverners Mike Gatting 6-a-sides were held on a pleasant summer’s day at that heaven of cricket grounds, Wormsley, on the Getty Estate in Buckinghamshire. As always the ground looked an absolute picture, huge credit to groundsman Simon Tremlin and his team.

Contesting the Trophy this year were Besso with celebrity support from Mike Gatting, Aon Corporation with Tim Munton, HSBC with Gladstone Small and Marketform, representing Sumaridge Wines, with Pedro Collins.

With 16-over matches the competition was keen and no side was unbeaten. AON and Besso both won two of their three games but mainly due to Besso only losing two wickets during their matches they were worthy winners of the trophy. Besso were then challenged by a Lord's Taverners team and came second, losing off the last ball of the game.
