The Lord’s Taverners golf day at Teignmouth Golf Club

14-Oct-2011

Nearly 50 teams contested this year’s annual Lord’s Taverners golf day at Teignmouth Golf Club on 23 June and raised more than £5,800.

This year’s winners were Loughtons independent financial advisers, with other prizes going to teams from as far afield as Plymouth, Glastonbury and Gloucester. The wooden spoon prize of a group golf lesson and fourball at Teignmouth went to Avalon Citroen.

Simon Harding, of Stephens Scown solicitors and chairman of the Lord’s Taverners Devon & Cornwall region, thanked all the participants and sponsors, adding: “We were very fortunate to have an extraordinarily successful day with a record number of entries and a record amount raised for our charity. Aside from the teams themselves, I am particularly grateful to Teignmouth Golf Club for being very helpful hosts and to all the people and firms who with only a gentle twist of the arm volunteered prizes, sponsorship or people.”

CORNWALL YOUTH CRICKET FESTIVAL

14-Sep-2011

There was a disappointing finale to the main Under 15 event at the Cornwall Youth Cricket Festival as, on the Friday evening, Truro and Walmley had to give up their struggle with the pouring rain just after the halfway mark. The local side, however, were declared the winners on overall scoring rate for the tournament and were presented with the winners’ medals and Lord’s Taverners cricket equipment bag in the invaluable marquee by Sir Tim Rice. This was the first time that the run rate rule had been required in the Festival, though it has been in place for most, if not all, of the 25 years of the event. Other local clubs Redruth and St Gluvias won the Plate and Bowl respectively and the host club’s Harry Lobb hit an incredible 153 runs in one very short innings (maximum 10 eight-ball overs) to win the Best Batting Performance prize.

The 25th Festival saw one particular special innovation, with floodlights being used for the evening Under 17 tournament. This was a roaring success and, though a little more lighting would be used if the idea is revisited in future years, a great spectacle was enjoyed by a good number of spectators on all four evenings. Incredibly, due to a late start on Thursday and an emergency ambulance being required for a spectator, the final finished at 11 minutes past 11! However, no-one minded at all, as Birmingham visitors Walmley won the event and local team Falmouth enjoyed the experience, having defeated Penzance by losing fewer wickets in a tied semi-final.

Earlier that day an excellent Paul outfit beat West Dulwich in the U13 Final, having hardly put a foot wrong throughout the tournament. Ryan Cornish turned out to be their star man this week, winning the Player of the Final award. Visitors South Devon and Walmley were defeated in the semis and Kingskerswell also contributed well, as did Ottery St Mary, who took home the Silver Plate. The Under 11 tournament took two Sundays to complete and this, sadly, forced the withdrawal of several teams, but the finals were eventually played out in warm sunshine and Truro CC captured its second trophy of the week, keeping Redruth at bay by the margin of 16 runs. St Gluvias’s improving players easily won the Bronze Plate, Perranporth the Silver Plate and Grampound Road B the Bowl.

The CYCF Committee is delighted to have completed 25 years and will now take a well-deserved rest, before looking to add a little strength to their numbers and beginning to discuss with St Gluvias Cricket Club their plans for 2012 onwards. If any local cricket enthusiast, even someone who has never been involved with cricket or event administration, would like to be part of this and could offer some help, CYCF would be only too delighted to welcome them aboard. Please contact Secretary Richard Mitchell (01326 212788) if you would like to become involved.

LADY TAVERNERS SUMMER ROUND UP

16-Aug-2011

The London Marathon - Anne Acton, not herself a Lady Taverner but wanting to support us as all her family love Cricket, ran in the London Marathon for the Devon and Cornwall region and raised over £1600. It was her first time running a Marathon, completing it in four and half hours and hoping to better this time next year. Many thanks to Ann.

CELEBRITY SPRING LUNCH - 18TH May 2011
My first event since taking over as Chairman which, thanks to our new Secretary Liz Barrett who had noticed that they were appearing at the Plymouth Theatre Royal in a production called 'Five Blue Haired Ladies sitting on a Green Park Bench', was attended by Lady Taverners' Lorraine Chase & Anita Harris. Having invited them to make up a Celebrity Lunch, Lorraine and Anita were joined by the rest of the female cast, Shirley Ann Field, Anne Charleston (who played Madge in Neighbours), Nicola Blackman and Anna Lindup. So, for our Spring Lunch we had six Celebrities together with 68 guests for lunch at the Royal Plymouth Corinthian Yacht Club, a great venue overlooking the waters of Plymouth Sound. I couldn't have asked for more for my first event and all the celebrities were great fun, creating a wonderful informal atmosphere and circulating amongst the different tables as well as drawing the raffle. We raised around £1500 whilst having a really enjoyable time and creating a lot of goodwill for the Lady Taverners. Hopefully we will have attracted several new members.

SUMMER LUNCH - 6TH JUNE 2011 with our new President, Angela Rippon

We were delighted when Angela Rippon accepted our invitation to join us at our Summer Lunch at the Langdon Court Hotel, Plymouth on the 6th June. Angela was taking over as LT President from Rachael Heyhoe Flint the following Monday so, especially as she lives in Devon, we wanted to be able celebrate her new appointment with her. The Lunch was attended by around sixty-five people and our welcoming drinks were held outside in the beautiful gardens of the Langdon Court owned by Lord Taverner Geoffrey and his wife Emma Ede. After lunch Angela Rippon gave a talk on her Comic Relief experience of living in Kibera, which is the largest slum in Africa, and having to provide for herself for a week, an amazing insight on how so many people live in Africa these days. It was a very emotive talk and made one feel very privileged to live where we do.
It was a really enjoyable and very successful lunch which raised in the region of £1400.

Our 2nd SPONSORED WALK - 25TH June 2011 at Noss Mayo
Once again our Sponsored Walk around the cliffs near Noss Mayo finished up at the Ship Inn for lunch with the dozen or so walkers so far raising over £250 with the money still coming in! Everyone enjoyed it so much that it’s been decided to keep the event for 2012 but, to attract more people, on the last Sunday of June rather than on a Saturday.

FUN DAY - 18TH JULY 2011 at Downham School, Plymstock
Downham School was chosen for this year’s Fun Day as a small “Thank You” to them for their wonderful carol singing at our Christmas Parties over the past few years. Thankfully we had organised a Puppet Show to be held at the School as the day turned out to be unseasonably wet and windy which would, literally, have put the dampeners on any outside entertainment! The Jacolly Puppet Company staged a really entertaining show to the fifty or so children who then had a gingerbread man to eat followed by a goody bag to go home with.

THE LADY TAVERNERS FUN DAY

05-May-2011

On the 11th April The Lady Taverners of Exeter organised a fun day for youngsters from the CEDA Group in Exeter. They came to the Cat and Fiddle Pub, with their carers, on the first day of the Easter Holidays.

Noreen Hoskin, Exeter Secretary, kindly hosts the occasional party for some of the special needs groups in the Exeter area and was delighted to welcome back CEDA. CEDA (Community, Equality, Disability, Action) are no stranger to the Lord’s Taverners’ work having received funds for a soft play room which was opened by Judith Chalmers last year.

The children played in the grounds when they first arrived and then it was time to come in to enjoy the ball pool - always a favourite - along with other attractions. Lunch was served and enjoyed by all. Pass the parcel followed and then more time for playing outside.

Before leaving each youngster had a "lucky dip" present and, of course, chocolate Easter Eggs and Bunnies - all sugar free! All were exhausted after 4 hours but really happy that everyone had enjoyed themselves.

In the photo: Friends, both called Shannon, enjoying lunch. If you look hard enough Noreen is at the end of the table.

THE LADY TAVERNERS DEVON & CORNWALL ROND UP - MARCH 2011

07-Mar-2011

Nearly New Fashion Show
In October we held a very successful ‘Nearly New Fashion Show’, in conjunction with Mandy Rolt of Top of the Steps, at The White Hart in Modbury.
With tickets at £5 each we had over 120 guests, we were delighted.
Considering the models were wearing second hand clothes, with the aid of accessories, make up and new hair dos they looked stunning, it was quite remarkable!
This was such a great fun evening so many people asked if we could do this again so watch this space!
Have a laugh and join in the fun at you tube – www.youtube.com/watch

Jubilee Dinner
We had the most wonderful dinner at Langdon Court Hotel in Wembury to celebrate The Lords Taverners 60th Anniversary.
In these recessionary times it has become increasingly difficult to sell tickets for fundraising events and our Jubilee Dinner was no exception.
Whilst there were only 33 of us the evening felt very much like an intimate dinner party.
The fire in the dining room was roaring, the Christmas tree was twinkling and the room was decorated with children’s drawing , paintings and sculptures, all much admired by our guests.
A warm and inviting atmosphere with songs from our guest Janette Aloof , who also entertained us with her supernatural skills.
Welcome drinks, a sensational meal, followed by an auction was the format for the evening, which turned out to be a truly lovely affair.
A huge thank you to all who made it!

Lady Taverners Christmas Lunch
We were so lucky with the weather, the day after our lunch Plymouth was a no go area – we had so much snow and ice – someone was watching over us!!
After many years of lunching at Kitley House Hotel, we tried a new venue this year, The Royal Corinthian Yacht Club on Plymouth Hoe, whilst not such a Christmassy venue the view was glorious!
It was a super lunch with the children from Downham School starting off our day with a selection of Christmas songs from their recent Nativity play, such a lovely way to start our Christmas.
A great raffle with so many generously donated gifts rounded off the festivities.
We are, as ever, so very grateful to our friends for their loyalty and support.
Thank you x

Children’s Christmas Party
Our region has tried for quite a few years now to give a Christmas party to a school which we have had a recent involvement with in order to maintain contact and to keep the Taverners name alive in their minds.
This year we went to Woodlands School in Tamerton Foliot.
Party food, Lady Taverner balloons filled with helium, table decorations and a bespoke gift for each child – all 72 of them!
Each wrapped with love by the ‘Girls’
Our region was lucky enough to be given 10 Harrods Christmas Bears, (which I picked up from Head Office on an earlier trip to London – and brought them back on train – to the amusement of my fellow travellers!!!!) which we presented to the school, one for each classroom – they were as you can imagine delighted and thrilled.
A huge thank you to Harrods for their kindness.
Emazdad entertained the children with high jinks and balloon modelling.
A very happy day was had by all.
To be part of their day was as good as it gets.

THE LADY TAVERNERS EXETER ROUND UP - MARCH 2011

04-Mar-2011

Over 60 Lady Taverners and friends gathered at the Abode Hotel in Exeter's Cathedral Square for the Annual Christmas Lunch. This has grown into one of our flagship events over the years. The traditional welcome drink of something "sparkling" set the tone for the day. Every guest had a "goodie bag" waiting for them at their table and the great lunch was followed by a top draw raffle and the day was rounded off by entertainment - Christmas songs to send you happily on your way. There was still time for some indulgence shopping in town before everyone made their way home. A great wasy to finish our Lady Taverners year.

2nd March - Lunch at Steamers in Beer
Believe me this was a great day - so good in fact all those who took their cameras forgot to take any photos! this was our Spring Lunch and the first of many events to be held in 2011. Spring flowers on the tables and just a really friendly atmosphere made an ideal setting for this informal get together. Beer is a traditional Devon seaside village - fish being sold on the sea front, quaint tea rooms and art galleries - a really great place to lunch and then explore. Everyone enjoyed a pre-lunch drink and caught up on all the news before going through for lunch. We enjoyed a varied choice of menu and Steamers try and source as much as possible of their produce from local suppliers. A new venture for us going to the East of our Region and we hope to have more events around other parts of the Region during the year.

Our work with various centres we have made contact with over the years continues and we look forward to an Easter Party for the youngsters of the CEDA Centre in Exeter and Cricket Bag Presentations during the coming months. 2011 has started with a swing and we are looking forward to a happy and rewarding 12 months for us and the youngsters who will benefit from the work of the Taverners.

22-Oct-2010

Over 30 Lady Taverners and friends got together for an informal lunch at Oliva's Restaurant in Topsham at the end of September.  We all had a great time and it was good to see old friends and new and catch up on all the news.  It was so successful that two new Associate Members were signed up on the day.  To ring the changes our raffle was "blind", with prizes beautifully wrapped but no-one having a clue as to the contents!  We aim to hold more lunches on an occasional basis throughout the year at other venues in the Region.

THE LADY TAVERNERS ELLEN TINKHAM PRESENTATION

22-Oct-2010

Noreen Hoskin and Wendy Hayden were invited to attend the official opening of the new playground at the Ellen Tinkham School Exeter.

Wendy and Noreen joined head boy and girl, Sam Gosling and Emily Prout to celebrate with Mike Head, who performed the official opening. The Taverners provided funding for the wheelchair roundabout, which is already proving to be a great success. Other features in the playground include a spinning chair, swings and climbing frames, which can be used by mobile and wheelchair bound children.

22-Oct-2010

The Annual Dinner and Awards Evening for Axminster Cricket Club took place on 9th October and invited members of the Exeter Region of the Lady Taverners to join them. It was a great evening and a superb buffet was served to over 80 guests. Wendy Hayden was invited to present the prizes for the Ladies Team awards. Warren Carr, who heads up the whole of Devon for Ladies Cricket came along and presented the Axminster Ladies with a trophy for top ladies team in the Devon League - quite an achievement.
Wendy is seen here with (left to right) Phil Spong, Peter Kiy and Les Haynes - club officials. The Diamond Jubilee Bat was on show and draw tickets were in great demand. The winner of the Bat will be announced at the Club's "Casino Night" at the end of the month." The evening really cemented a great partnership between the Exeter Region and Axminster CC.

THE LADY TAVERNERS PRESENT CRICKET BAG TO ST. WILFRED’S SCHOOL - 12TH OCTOBER 2010

13-Oct-2010

“Sue Paine, Chairman, Noreen Hoskin, Secretary and Jan Sokell of the Exeter Region of the Lady Taverners, attended St. Wilfred’s School, Exeter on Tuesday the 12th October 2010 to present them with a Junior Cricket Equipment Bag.

The Sports Master, Chris Bovingdon, is eager to promote cricket at the school, and the young pupils were equally enthusiastic, as can be seen from the photograph.

Two representatives were chosen to model the equipment, and as it was such a beautiful day they felt the cricket season should be extended, as they could not wait to make use of the equipment.”

THE LADY TAVERNERS FUN DAY, ELLEN TINKHAM SCHOOL, EXETER - 1ST JULY 2010

29-Sep-2010

Twelve pupils from Ellen Tinkham School, Exeter, together with their carers, arrived at Escot Park for a great Fun Day.

You name it, they did it! An adventure in the jungle park, watching a falconry display and they really enjoyed the ball pit - we're still trying to work that one out!

Packed lunches were of course the order of the day and when everyone was quite tired out and ready to go home, they were all given a little gift to remind them of the day they had spent at Escot - a very special Lady Taverners Fun Day.

THE LADY TAVERNERS FUN DAY, MILL FORD SCHOOL, PLYMOUTH

06-Sep-2010

Our fun day didn’t actually take place on 1st July instead some weeks later – but boy oh boy did the kids have fun!
We decided that it would be a great idea to GIVE MILL FORD SCHOOL IN PLYMOUTH an ‘End of School Year Fun Day’.
Billy Wizz provided the entertainment, a magic show with fabulous balloon modelling.
We girls baked fairy cakes and buns and bought a variety of drinks.
We had been very fortunate in being given Harrods Teddy Bears, four of which formed part of the Fun Day, giving a true ‘Teddy Bear Picnic’ feel to the event.
The children, all 92 of them, had been excited for weeks and had the most wonderful day, a great start to the summer holidays.

THE LADY TAVERNERS PRESENT SPORTS WHEELCHAIR TO DEVON DISABILITY TENNIS

03-Sep-2010

Lesley Forrest and Sandra Laine had the privilege and pleasure of presenting Martin Duffy with his bespoke sports wheel chair.

What a performance, so many moves involved.
Sandra and I were both invited to play, but beaten in the first set!

THE LORD'S TAVERNERS EXETER GOLF DAY, TEIGNMOUTH GOLF CLUB - 24TH JUNE 2010

01-Sep-2010

“On 24 June, the Exeter region of the Lord’s Taverners held its annual Golf Day at teignmouth golf club.

Whilst we were, once again, very fortunate to enjoy some fantastic weather, we were also able to cajole and persuade a record number of 38 teams to enter the day and to raise a (local) record amount of just over £5,000.

This year’s winner was Real World Associates captained by David Cosford, who despite being the 2nd team out still managed to cling on to their lead for over 7 hours despite five other teams getting within three points of their total of 98 points.

Simon Harding, Chairman of the Exeter region, said, “The day could not have been much more of a success and on behalf of the local committee I would like to extend our thanks to the continuing support of Teignmouth Golf Club and, more particularly, to local professionals, firms and sponsors who so generously supported the day and charity.”

THE LADY TAVERNERS SPONSORED WALK, NOSS MAYO - 26TH JUNE 2010

27-Jul-2010

A select few took part in the first Lady Taverners Sponsored Walk on 26th May 2010.

It was the most beautiful sunny day, and twelve of us plus two dogs set off in great spirits.

We had to keep stopping to ensure the dogs were well watered which almost made us late for lunch!

An amazing £752 was raised, we really did have fun raising money and awareness.

A big thank you to all who took part!

THE LORD'S TAVERNERS PRESENT CHEQUE FOR £3,000 TO ABBOTSKERSWELL CRICKET CLUB

22-Jul-2010

ABBOTSKERSWELL CRICKET CLUB UNVEIL NEW ALL WEATHER WICKET

ABBOTSKERSWELL CRICKET CLUB is proud to announce that their new all-weather wicket has been commissioned. The new facility was unveiled in a ceremony at Abbots Two Mile Oak ground by the three major sponsors, The Lords Taverners, who provided a grant of £3000, Devon County Council via their Locality Budget, who gave £2000,and Teignbridge District Council who provided £1000 via their Councillors Community Fund. The balance of £500 was funded by a grant from Abbfest, the organisers of the Abbotskerswell Beer and Food Festival,

Pictured are : Stuart Munday, the Regional Committee of the Lords Taverners, handing over their

Manager,Chris Kelmere.

District Councillor Dennis Smith, cutting the ceremonial ribbon.

Joe Clowes, Chairman of Abbotskerswell Cricket Club, commented ” I would like to thank our sponsors for providing the funding to replace our life expired all-weather pitch. With the substantial increase in the numbers of under 17’s, both boys and girls, that we provide coaching and competitive cricket for, our facilities were coming under pressure and it’s really good that we are able to make such a substantial investment in cricket for younger people. With the lack of cricket coaching and play in State schools, clubs such as ours are taking up the challenge of providing organised cricket in a safe environment for a generation who otherwise would not be able to experience our national summer game”

THE LADY TAVERNERS CRICKET DAY, AXMINSTER - 20TH JUNE 2010

13-Jul-2010

"Axminster Town Cricket Club hosted a Grand Charity Cricket Day on 20th June for the benefit of the Lady Taverners and their own youth cricket programme. The day started with about 60 youngsters playing a knock out competition followed by The Axminster Town Ladies taking on an Invitation Devon II representing the Exeter Lady Taverners.

Both teams put on a great cricket performance with the Devon II coming out victors, but player of the match when to Axminster.

There was plenty to keep every one occupied during the day. Everyone was really enjoyed the cricket. There was also a great raffle and tombola, with a hog roast for the youngsters and traditional lunch and tea for all the visitors and players, not to mention the superb Pimms prepared by the bar staff at Axminster! The girls youth team at Axminster were also presented with a cricket bag.

The day was so successful that it has already been agreed to hold a similar event next year and the Exeter Lady Taverners have been invited to run the raffle at the annual Cricket Dinner in October.

Exeter Region are delighted to be forging such a strong relationship with Axminster and in partnership with them, we hope to raise the profile of Axminster and the Lady Taverners, encouraging new young cricketers - both boys and girls and taking ladies cricket at Axminster to even greater heights, as well as raising funds to help youngster with special needs, while having a great time."

Sally Loraine’s Report on running the 2009 London Marathon for the Devon & Cornwall Lady Taverners.

I just wanted to report back as I didn't make it the offices after the marathon.  I had a fantastic, fantastic day but sadly, due to my illness and the heat, didn't quite manage to do it in the anticipated time of 4 hours 30 - 5 hours.  In fact, having done the Bath half marathon pretty comfortably, it came as quite a shock when at 8 miles my legs started to really hurt and I had to start doing walk/run.  My husband was at mile 7 which was a great boost and then met me again at mile 18 but by then I was in quite a lot of distress as every time I stopped to walk I felt very sick and dizzy and then when I tried to run it was agony.

Anyway, I struggled on and then met my guardian angel - a lady called Lizzie who, like me, was struggling.  Having each other as company we got ourselves round through the laughter and the pain, and with a final booster of seeing my husband at mile 21 (to check I was still alive as he was pretty worried evidently - I must have looked bad!!) and then my whole family in Birdcage Walk we crossed the line at 5 hours 52 minutes I think it was.  I grabbed the first guy I saw and gave him a huge hug and then thanked him but said I really needed that (he didn't seem to mind though!) and then we limped over to letter L on Horse guards Parade.  Once greeting all the family I suddenly felt very sick and dizzy and ended up in the St Johns Ambulance tent for 45 minutes!  What a muppet!  Total dehydration was the doctor's diagnosis and of course, unbeknown to him, this was coupled with the fact that I had been very poorly at the start of the week and was, and still am, on antibiotics!  But... despite feeling like death warmed up from mile 8 - 18 and despite not being able to walk today!!.... I wouldn't have missed it for the world and am so thrilled I did it.  I just didn't have it in me to walk to your offices at the end and in fact only just got to the spaghetti house in Leicester Square where we had arranged to meet all our family (and the table we had booked would be downstairs wouldn't it!!!  Ha Ha).

Anyway, a HUGE thank you all for all your support and for giving me the opportunity to tick off one of my life-long ambitions!!

THE LORD'S TAVERNERS DEVON & CORNWALL GOLF CHALLENGE - OCTOBER '08

13-Mar-2009

The 2008 Taverners Regional Golf Challenge at Patshull Park.

Devon & Cornwall Triumph Yet Again!

A new venue and tighter handicap rules but no change in the result. For the third year running, Devon & Cornwall take the Lord’s Taverners Inter Regional Golf Challenge Trophy.

A smaller field this year (9 teams) gathered at Patshull Park on October 20th for the annual Inter Regional Golf Challenge. With players restricted to 3/4 handicap the scores were lower this year but Devon & Cornwall still managed to amass a fine 85 points to beat East Kent by 4 points with Thames Valley a further 2 points behind in 3rd place. Philip King of Thames Valley and Darren Stevens of East Kent (so Devon & Cornwall didn’t win everything) took, respectively, the men’s nearest pin and longest drive prizes; Chrissie Colbeck and Linda Portlock from the Lady Taverners team similarly took the ladies prizes.

The assembled company enjoyed a fine dinner and were entertained spiritedly by Adger Brown before stepping on to the tee the next morning in damp conditions to try to wrest the trophy from the West country golfers. The weather improved significantly but the hopes of the challengers were once again dashed.

Congratulations again to Devon & Cornwall and thanks to everybody who took part.

THE LADY TAVERNERS EXETER REGION PRESENTS JUDITH HAMER WITH A SPORTS WHEELCHAIR-

13-Mar-2009

Judith Hamer, from Exeter, was delighted when she was presented with her new sports wheelchair by Sue Paine, Chairman of The Lady Taverners Exeter Region and Noreen Hoskin, Secretary of the Region.

Judith is a member of the Otters Wheelchair Basket Ball Club and is hoping to get into the national team.  She also had help with funding from Helen’s Trust of Exeter.

In 2007 Judith went to Ecuador for a month to film Beyond Boundaries for the BBC, which shows just how determined she can be and hopefully getting this new chair will encourage her to even greater things.

Sue and Noreen went along to the training centre in Exeter and saw the team in action and had the opportunity to meet up with Paul Bounden Club Secretary, who kindly took this photo.

THE LADY TAVERNERS EXETER REGION CHRISTMAS LUNCH - DECEMBER '08

13-Mar-2009

This year 60 Lady Taverners and guests enjoyed a great Christmas Lunch at The Oliva Restaurant in Topsham. Champagne and canapés awaited guests upon arrival which really set the tone of the day and put everyone in the mood for a lovely afternoon. The guests enjoyed the display of fantastic jewellery and there were plenty of pre-Christmas treats as well as a number of Christmas presents bought on the day!

The lunch was superb and more than lived up to Oliva's reputation.  The all important raffle took place after lunch and included some fabulous prizes such as a Christmas Hamper, a Luxury Chocolate Box, wine, and spirits to name but a few!

A wonderful way to spend a day, I must say!

This has become an annual event for our region, we love the hands on approach to helping our local children have fun and feel it is very much the start to our Christmas as well as theirs. - This year we put on a party for 68 children under 5 at St Pauls pre-school in St Budeaux - a pre school for mostly underprivileged children, some with learning difficulties. Party food, Christmas decorations and an entertainer all set the stage for a fun (and exhausting) day. Father Christmas arrived a little late as he was rather over loaded with 68 presents!!!
