Lord’s Taverners support Swansea wheelchair club
The Lord’s Taverners Wales has presented Swansea Storm Wheelchair Basketball player James Coyle-Link with funding of £1,000 for new equipment.
The club for disabled players was established in 2012. No stranger to support from The Lord’s Taverners Wales, the club received five brand new wheelchairs from the charity shortly after its official launch.
The Lord’s Taverners’ support is part of their mission to help young, disadvantaged people get involved in sport.
James said: “My new basketball chair has enabled me to improve my performances due to its lightness and maneuverability, and it is also a better fit therefore it does not damage my legs every time I play. Thanks to the Lord Taverners for helping me, it really means a lot"
Attending the wheelchair presentation at the LC Swansea, Taverner Bruce Roberts said: “Attending these presentations is always a delight; it is what the charity is all about – giving people a ‘sporting chance’.
“It was great to meet James who will reap the benefits of this donation. It’s thanks to the generosity of all our supporters that we are able to continue to help sporting organisations across Wales.”
