Celtic Cup title heads to Scotland
When London was awarded the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games back in 2007, we set up our Disability Sports Appeal (DSA) to raise £1 million for youth disability sport. Five years on and well on track to reach our target, we have given thousands of disabled young people the opportunity to enjoy wheelchair sports, particularly basketball, tennis, table cricket and boccia.
The latest DSA competition took place this weekend (28 and 29 July) in Enniskillen, Northern Ireland, supported by the Hilton in the Community Foundation. The Celtic Cup saw representative wheelchair basketball teams from Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland battle it out at the Fermanagh Lakeland Forum Leisure Complex, with Scotland finishing 2012 champions after defeating Northern Ireland 80-43 in their final game.
