Mashie Cup golf day raises over £1,000 for the Lord's Taverners

Last month, The MASHIE Sports Cup - 'Racing vs Cricket' was held at Stone Park Golf Club, with guest star captains Chris Woakes and Sir AP McCoy leading teams of sports stars alongside keen amateur golfers. Team Cricket, led by Chris Woakes included England batting coach Mark Ramprakash, England and Nottinghamshire cricketer Jake Ball and ex-England and Nottinghamshire cricketer James Taylor. Team Racing comprised of AP McCoy, Rishi Persad, Mick Fitzgerald and John Francome.

Team Racing triumphed on the course, beating Team Cricket by a score of 3-1 in the 4-balls, in the process winning a £500 donation from MASHIE to the Injured Jockey Fund (IJF). A charity auction followed the golf with funds being raised for both the Lord's Taverners and the IJF - causes close to both captains hearts. Thanks to the generosity of those attending, over £2,500 was raised for the two charities.

The Lord’s Taverners would like to thank MASHIE, Chris Woakes and Team Cricket, AP McCoy and Team Racing as well as everyone who attended the golf day for their support.
