Norwich and Sheffield take National Junior Wheelchair Basketball titles

Over 200 players and spectators packed out the All Saints Sports Centre on Saturday as Sheffield welcomed The Lord’s Taverners Junior League Finals 2012.

With teams from all across the UK and Northern Ireland battling it out in the quest to finish the season as champions, not to mention taking home the coveted trophy, the event proved to be an incredible display of the skills and talent held by the sport’s future!

In the end, after a fantastic day’s play, it was the Norwich Lowriders who were crowned The 8ft Hoop 2011/12 Champions, with the Sheffield Steelers retaining their title in the 10ft Hoop Finals.

British Wheelchair Basketball Junior Development Officer, Tina Gordon, said: "The support BWB has received from The Lord's Taverners Disability Sports Appeal over the past 5 years has made a tremendous impact on junior development, and the Finals were a fantastic display of wheelchair basketball skills, determination and team spirit from all the squads participating.”
