The RT Hon Sir Robert Menzies KT AK CH FRS QC 1962


Australia’s longest serving Prime Minister, Sir Robert held the post for 17 years. He is regarded by many Australians as their greatest ever leader. He studied Law at Melbourne University and graduated with first class honours. In 1976 he was appointed Knight of The Order of Australia. He was a great Cricket enthusiast.

Richard Hearne 1963


A broadcaster and actor who made his name as ‘Mr Pastry’ in the film 'Madame Louise'.

Sir Edward Lewis 1965


A former stockbroker who bought the Decca record company, turning it into the second biggest record label in the world during his tenure.

Ronnie Waldman 1966


Ronnie was a BBC Executive who was the Head of the Light Entertainment department. He discovered Morecambe and Wise, offering them their own TV series. He also presented the popular TV show 'Puzzle Corner'.

Sir Harry Secombe CBE 1967-68 and 1980-81


One of the UK’s best loved entertainers Sir Harry was a star of the Stage, Screen, TV and Radio. He is probably best remembered for his role in 'The Goons' but also is well known for presenting 'Highway' and 'Songs of Praise'. He had a fine tenor voice and made his name as a singer with 'This is my song' reached number 2 in the British pop charts in 1967. In 1981 he wrote his first novel 'Welsh Fargo'.
