Lord’s Taverners President Sir Michael Parkinson CBE interviews cricketing legend Sir Ian Botham OBE, one of the most entertaining all-rounders of his generation whose flamboyant batting and incisive bowling won games and excited spectators.
‘Beefy’ made his Test debut in 1977, scoring 5,200 runs and taking 383 wickets in his career. He was the fastest player to the double of 1,000 runs and 100 wickets and led England to the most spectacular and unpredictable recovery against Australia in the 1981 Ashes series.
