Everyone connected with the Taverners is saddened to hear of the passing of Lady Taverners Honorary Life President Baroness Rachael Heyhoe Flint OBE DL on Wednesday.

Her cricketing career is well known and her continued working role within cricket – notably as a Trustee of the England and Wales Cricket Trust (the ECB’s charitable arm) and as a leading light of the MCC - is well documented.

For us it will be the immense energy and vitality she demonstrated as a Taverner that will live long in the memory having served as Lady Taverners President from 2001 to 2011.

She will be very sadly missed and our thoughts are with Derrick and her family at this very difficult time.

Lesley Garrett, President of the Lady Taverners, said: It was with much sadness that I learned today of the passing of our much loved and hugely admired Honorary Life President of the Lady Taverners. Baroness Rachael Heyhoe Flint OBE was our President from 2001 to 2011. She was one of the founder members of the Lady Taverners and we were extremely lucky to have this incredible lady as our President for so long. Her support and dedication had no bounds. Rest in Peace dear Rachael.
