Felsted School claim Lady Taverners U15 indoor national title

A week after the U13 final, the U15 version also took place at the MCC Indoor Academy on Monday 15 May. Lord’s welcomed Felsted School (Essex), Old Buckenham High School (Norfolk), Shrewsbury School (Shropshire), South Dartmoor Community College (Devon) and St Aiden’s High School (Yorkshire) to the National Finals.

There were some excellent skills on display with bat and ball and in the field with some close finishes. Two games went down to the final ball with South Dartmoor edging out St Aiden’s by one run thanks to a great catch off the last delivery while in the final game of the day, Old Buckenham beat Shrewsbury by two runs.

However the winning team was Felsted School who won all four of their matches with some impressive all-round performances, with Shrewsbury and Old Buckenham tied on two wins and two losses, Shrewsbury edging second place by virtue of scoring more runs on the day.

England star Sarah Taylor was on hand to present all of the teams their medals and the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy to Felsted captain Annabel Hills.
