Youth Ambassadors

Haleemah

Haleemah attends Wicketz in Glasgow, with a passion for helping others and expressing creativity alongside her role in childcare and running a small business specialising in henna and Arabic calligraphy.

I am 18 years old and currently work part-time in childcare, a role I enjoy because I love supporting children’s development and helping them grow in confidence. Alongside this, I run a small business specialising in henna and Arabic calligraphy, which has helped me develop skills in communication, creativity, organisation, responsibility and working with a wide range of people. I am also preparing to begin college, where I will study Applied Science, a subject I am passionate about and keen to explore further.

Outside of work and education, sport plays a major role in my life. I enjoy staying active, trying new activities and challenging myself. I also enjoy walking, hiking, arts and crafts, and spending time with friends and family. Creative activities are especially important to me as they allow me to express myself and explore new ideas.

My involvement with Wicketz and volunteering has helped me become more engaged in my local community. Through these experiences, I have met new people, attended events and developed the confidence to step outside my comfort zone. I have learned that some of the most rewarding opportunities come from trying something new.

I would like to become a Youth Ambassador because I am eager to expand my knowledge, gain new experiences and strengthen my leadership and communication skills. Through my experiences in childcare, business, volunteering and sport, I have developed valuable life skills and would love the opportunity to make a positive difference in my community while continuing to grow personally and professionally.
