Web Accessibility Compliance Statement
Lord’s Taverners is committed to ensuring that our website and digital content are accessible, inclusive, and usable for everyone. As a charity supporting young people with a disability and those facing socio-economic disadvantage, accessibility is central to our mission and values.
We aim to meet the requirements of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level A and AA, and we are actively working to improve our website in line with these standards.
Our Commitment
We are working towards delivering all web content in line with WCAG 2.2 A and AA success criteria. To support this, we:
- Test our website against WCAG 2.2 A and AA checkpoints.
- Carry out regular accessibility audits, including the recent independent audit completed in 2026.
- Make improvements based on audit findings, user feedback, and evolving best practice.
- Consider accessibility in all new website developments and content updates.
- Provide alternative formats where needed.
This work supports our responsibilities under the Equality Act 2010.
How We Test
We test our website using a combination of automated tools and manual checks, including:
- Keyboard-only navigation
- Screen reader testing (NVDA and JAWS)
- Browser zoom and magnification up to 400%
- Mobile accessibility testing using VoiceOver (iOS) and TalkBack (Android)
- Colour contrast and structural checks
- PDF and document accessibility checks
We focus on testing with current versions of mainstream browsers and assistive technologies.
Third‑Party Services
Some parts of our website rely on third‑party platforms or embedded tools (for example, donation forms, maps, and video players). While we work with suppliers to encourage accessible design, we cannot guarantee full compliance for all third‑party services.
If you encounter an accessibility issue with a third‑party feature, please let us know so we can raise it with the provider.
Documents and PDFs
We recognise that PDF documents can present accessibility challenges. We are working to improve the accessibility of our documents and will provide alternative formats on request.
Current Known Accessibility Issues
Our most recent audit identified several areas where improvements are required. We are actively working to resolve the following:
- Missing or non‑descriptive alternative text on images and documents.
- Navigation issues for keyboard users, including menus that do not open on focus.
- Colour contrast issues affecting text readability.
- Inaccessible form fields and error messages.
- Inaccessible PDF documents and inconsistent heading structures.
- Video content without audio description or accessible captions.
- Maps and location tools that are difficult to navigate with assistive technology.
We are addressing these issues through a structured improvement plan.
Continuous Improvement
We are committed to ongoing accessibility improvements. This includes:
- Regular accessibility audits
- Staff training on accessible content creation
- Reviewing new content and features for accessibility
- Engaging with users and incorporating feedback
