Youth Ambassadors
James
James is a bilateral amputee who has struggled with his mental health. Cricket has provided James with a community where he feels safe and accepted.
James plays for Valley End Rascals, Surrey Super 1s and 9s, Surrey Wheelchair and GB Wheelchair Cricket. Cricket has opened lots of opportunities for James, including scoring on Saturdays for Valley End Cricket Club.
As a Lord’s Taverners ambassador, James wants to inspire young wheelchair disabled children to get into cricket and for them to believe in their ability.
“Being a youth ambassador is a good thing because you get to meet interesting people. When I started as a youth ambassadors it has grown my confidence and my public speaking skills”
