Investec, in partnership with The Lord’s Taverners and supported by the ECB, have set up the inaugural Investec Ashes 2013 Cycle Challenge.
The ride will take place between 13 and 17 July 2013 and cover 340 miles between this year’s five Investec Ashes Test Match grounds, starting at the Emirates Durham ICG and finishing at Lord’s the day before the 2nd Investec Test.
A number of high profile cricket and sporting personalities have registered for the ride, including former Ashes-winning England captain and Lord’s Taverners trustee, Mike Gatting OBE.
Places on the five-day challenge are limited to 80, with 20 day-ride places per leg.
Day 5: Milton Keynes to Lord’s Cricket Ground (55 miles), Wednesday 17 July
Your challenge begins at 7.30am (for an 8am start) at the Holiday Inn Express Hotel, Milton Keynes. Here you will be introduced to your challenge leader, support team and the rest of your group and receive your introductory briefing.
Your route winds its way south past Luton and through St Albans before cycling over both the M25 and M1 before taking the A5 into central London. You will regroup at Kilburn Grange Park before cycling as one large group to finish at Lord’s Cricket Ground, where you can celebrate in style with a glass of champagne and team photographs at 4pm.

Finish venue: Lord’s Cricket Ground, London, NW8 8QN
Finish time: 4pm
Registration for day riders costs £100, including race support and team shirt.
