The Lord's Taverners v Saracens

Lord’s Taverners v Saracens
On a glorious summers day in June the annual fixture between two star studded teams took to the field in the glorious grounds of Mill Hill School in North London.
Batting first; the Lord’s Taverners reached 176 for 4 in 30 overs, Jason Oates on debut scored a quick fire 55, Gareth Hall 43 with Duncan Bell and Martyn Ball contributing 28 and 26 at the end of the innings.
In reply Vorster and Mordt made sensible contributions at the top of the order while the Taverners maintained the pressure with the ball, taking wickets at regular intervals. It all came down to the last ball of the game with six needed for Saracens to secure a win. Facing the last ball with six required was Paul Robin the Lord’s Taverners Chief Executive who was actually playing for Saracens, unfortunately he only managed to get a single.
It's a fixture that we all look forward to and on behalf of Lord’s Taverners a massive thank you to Nigel for all his kind support. It's always a pleasure to have fun playing cricket and know that with every ball bowled we are making a difference to many young people.
