High Sheriff's Carol Concert

Join the High Sheriff for a Carol concert in aid of the Lord’s Taverners, taking place at the beautiful Llandaff Cathedral.

Enjoy an evening of festive entertainment, featuring performances from the wonderful Sophie Evans, Henry Derbyshire and Cowbridge Male Voice Choir, alongside a selection of celebrity readings from Julian Lewis Jones, Sian Lloyd, Izzie Balmer and more to be announced!

Come together to celebrate the start of the festive season, enjoy some much-loved carols and readings, and help raise vital funds for the
Lord’s Taverners, who support young people living with a disability and those facing socio-economic disadvantage.

IZZIE BALMER will be known to many antiques aficionados from her appearances on popular television programmes such as BBC TV's Antiques Road Trip, The Travelling Auctioneers, Flog It!, and Bargain Hunt. With over a decade of experience in the auction world, she is now an independent auctioneer, valuer and consultant, specialising in jewellery and gemmology. Izzie holds the prestigious FGA and DGA diplomas from the Gemmological Association of Great Britain, having studied at Birmingham’s School of Jewellery and Assay Office. Alongside advising clients on collections, valuations and sales, she works with auction houses across the Cotswolds and South-West and is a popular host and speaker at events and lectures.

JULIAN LEWIS JONES has enjoyed a career spanning over 30 years across theatre, film, television and radio. An Associate of Theatr Clwyd, where he was mentored by former RSC Artistic Director Terry Hands, his extensive credits include Invictus, Justice League, Zero Dark Thirty, House of the Dragon, Call the Midwife, The Wheel of Time and the critically acclaimed BBC series The Guest. Most recently seen in Sky Atlantic’s Under Salt Marsh alongside Kelly Reilly and Jonathan Pryce, Julian will next appear in the BBC comedies Better Later and Old Town Murders. Away from acting, he is a passionate rugby supporter and accomplished fisherman who has produced and presented numerous fishing programmes.
