Club Supper at Langan's Brasserie
The Lord's Taverners is pleased to announce its third Club Supper upstairs at Langan's Brasserie on Tuesday 13 November.
We are delighted to be joined by guest speaker Wayne Barnes, a barrister and English international rugby union referee.
Wayne became a full time English referee in April 2005 aged 25, the youngest ever to be appointed.
In April 2006, Wayne was selected to join the iRB 26-man panel of international referees. In September 2007, he was selected as one of 12 referees at the Rugby World Cup in France. Wayne was the first English referee to officiate at Croke Park (Ireland v Wales) and the youngest Premiership final referee when London Wasps defeated Leicester Tigers.
Wayne became the first English official to referee the British and Irish Lions when they played the Cheetahs in Bloemfontein, South Africa. In 2010 he was the youngest referee to officiate a Heineken Cup final and went on to referee at the 2012 World Cup in New Zealand.
Join us at the Club Supper to hear Wayne recount some of his enthralling rugby experiences.
