The Lady Taverners 25th Anniversary Ball
The Lady Taverners gathered at the prestigious Dorchester Hotel in London to celebrate their 25th Anniversary. The annual Ball always attracts a glamorous crowd and this year was no exception!
The evening mood was set with a Champagne reception full of sparkle. Guests were invited to buy a ticket to enter ‘Diamond in a Glass’ for the chance to win an exquisite diamond necklace. After an introduction from the event’s chairman, Denise Horne, guests enjoyed the start of their feast. More Champagne was served before the evening’s entertainment began as talented singer, Lee Mead, who had previously won Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical reality show ‘Any Dream Will Do’, took to the stage. The dance floor filled as couples danced to Lee’s smooth and romantic tones. His final rousing number ‘Bring Him Home’, from the hit musical Les Miserables, earned a well-deserved standing ovation.
A fabulous dessert decorated with chocolate ‘25’s paid homage to The Lady Taverners Anniversary. Guests were in the mood to dance and the next round of entertainment would certainly appease. Nine-piece band Mixed Feelings, no strangers to The Lady Taverners, knew exactly the right mix of modern and classic hits to ensure everyone was on their feet.
The dancing continued long into the night and with over £40,000 raised, The Lady Taverners have certainly helped to ‘raise more than just a smile’ for thousands of disadvantaged and disabled young people throughout the UK.
With thanks to Denise Horne, the Ball committee and Taverners staff who helped put together a truly unforgettable event, and to The 100 Property Club for its generous support.
