Western Christmas Dinner at Brasserie Blanc
An excellent evening of good food, good company, an energetic and on form Nicholas Parsons and some terrific quality auction items; what more could you ask for to make a memorable event?
The Western region revived their Christmas dinner after a couple of years absence and after such a successful evening the committee are already looking forward to organising the event for next year.
The venue was in the Baronial looking Cutlers Hall which is part of Brasserie Blanc in the centre of Bristol, and the Christmas fare served up was of very high quality as one would expect of a Raymond Blanc establishment.
The full room of guests was entertained by a very youthful looking Nicholas Parsons who kept them enthralled with his anecdotes and very funny stories. Nicholas was accompanied by his wife Annie who pleased him immensely by laughing at all his jokes – even though she had heard them all before!
The evening ended after an exciting auction conducted by Joe Hiram who squeezed the best prices out of the guests for a fantastic Paris apartment, a weekend in the Cotswolds and a dinner for six at Brasserie Blanc in addition to other attractive lots.
A grand evening all round with a successful financial outcome for Taverners and a most enjoyable time for all those present.
