A trek from London to Paris

Some Taverners run a marathon, others host a Gala dinner. Geoff Hedges walks from London to Paris.

On Saturday 1st June 2013, Geoff Hedges, his wife Helen and friends Drew and Diana Kirby, set off on the mammoth task of walking from London to Paris for The Lord's Taverners.

Their spirited journey started in Central London where they made their way to the English coast passing Oxted, Lingfield, Uckfield and Lewes, eventually arriving at Newhaven. On Saturday 8th June, Geoff and his fellow walkers were ferried across to Dieppe where they continued on foot across the countryside of Northern France.

On Sunday, Geoff and co made it to Torcy le Petit, stopping off at Arques-la-Bataille on the way but they still face another 10 gruelling days ahead of them before they reach the elegance of Paris and the march up the Champs Elvsee to the Arc de Triumphe, where they would have completed 180 miles!

For their dedicated efforts they have raised a fantastic £1,375 so far, but need your support to raise even more and help disadvantaged and disabled young people across the UK!

Keep up the good work Geoff, Helen, Drew and Diana!
