The Lord’s Taverners golf day at Teignmouth Golf Club
Nearly 50 teams contested this year’s annual Lord’s Taverners golf day at Teignmouth Golf Club on 23 June and raised more than £5,800.
This year’s winners were Loughtons independent financial advisers, with other prizes going to teams from as far afield as Plymouth, Glastonbury and Gloucester. The wooden spoon prize of a group golf lesson and fourball at Teignmouth went to Avalon Citroen.
Simon Harding of Stephens Scown solicitors and chairman of the Lord’s Taverners Devon & Cornwall region, thanked all the participants and sponsors, adding: “We were very fortunate to have an extraordinarily successful day with a record number of entries and a record amount raised for our charity. Aside from the teams themselves, I am particularly grateful to Teignmouth Golf Club for being very helpful hosts and to all the people and firms who with only a gentle twist of the arm volunteered prizes, sponsorship or people.”
