Disabled Wallington youngsters go for a 'Silver Spin'

Representatives of The Lady Taverners joined pupils, teachers, carers and parents at Sherwood Park School in Wallington, Surrey, on 27 September to officially open the school’s new £10,000 wheelchair roundabout.

Sherwood Park School is a state day special school for 80 pupils with severe, multiple and profound disabilities. The school provides a curriculum designed to help these very vulnerable children to be as independent as possible, learning to communicate, get active, make friends and enjoy life.

The new wheelchair roundabout has been installed thanks to funds raised by The Lady Taverners last year during their 25th year of fundraising. The wheelchair roundabout, named the ‘Silver Spinner’ to mark The Lady Taverners silver anniversary, will provide a safe, suitable and exciting place for the school’s most disabled pupils to play and learn.
