Trustees review 10 Buckingham Place and appoint new Chairman
All of the new Trustees attended a Trustees’ meeting this morning, the purpose of which was to re-consider 10 Buckingham Place, and to appoint a Chairman of Trustees.
The Trustees proposed that Roger Smith, a former Chairman (2000 – 2001) and well respected Lord’s Taverner, should be appointed by the Trustee Board as an Appointed Trustee to undertake the role of Chairman of Trustees until the end of the 2015 Annual General Meeting, and the Trustees are delighted to announce that he has accepted this position with immediate effect.
The Trustees undertook a fresh appraisal of the proposal to sell 10 Buckingham Place. In doing so they had regard to the views expressed by members in a number of fora, including the AGM, the Lady Taverners General Meeting, and in various communications over the last four months. In addition they also reviewed afresh the previous reports on the proposal and advice that they have had during the course of the process as well as the Surveyor's report required under S.119 of the Charities Act 2011. In the light of all that they agreed to proceed with the proposed sale of the property.
