Jordanne Whiley completes 2014 Grand Slam

Britain’s Jordanne Whiley won the women’s wheelchair tennis doubles tournament at the US Open to complete a Grand Slam in 2014.

Jordanne, who is also an ambassador for the Lord’s Taverners, and Japan's Yui Kamiji beat Dutch defending champions Jiske Griffioen and Aniek van Koot 6-4 3-6 6-3 at Flushing Meadows in New York to secure the title where Jordanne became the first Briton to win the same event at all four Grand Slams in the same year.

In other good news for our Taverners ambassadors, wheelchair tennis player Alfie Hewett has been filling his trophy cabinet after winning four titles in two weeks! He won both the singles and doubles competitions at the German Open in August and then backed that up with doubles titles in Austria and Italy.
