Former world champions presents new minibus to Bromley youngsters
Six time snooker world champion Steve Davis presented staff and pupils from Nash College (Bromley) with a new Lord’s Taverners wheelchair accessible minibus last week (7 December).
Livability’s Nash College is one of only three specialist colleges in the entire London conurbation and also takes referrals from the Home Counties. Providing day and residential facilities, Nash College supports over 80 young people aged 19-25 with severe to profound learning disabilities and/or complex needs.
The new 16-seat wheelchair accessible minibus will enable students to get off campus and into the community as much as possible where they can make use of local employability training sites and sports facilities.
Steve McDermott, Hub Manager for Nash College, said: “This brand new minibus is not just a vehicle to take people from A to B, it is a vehicle that supports and enables young disabled adults to access community settings and amenities to develop their life skills which enriches their lives. So we’d like to thank the Lord’s Taverners for the minibus that ensures the students of Nash College have a greater quality of life and are not held back by their disabilities, but encouraged because of their abilities.”
