Harry Judd plays this weekend for the Tavs, with a new bat!
Watch Harry Judd in cricket action on Sunday when he lines up for the Lord’s Taverners team against a Sir Michael Parkinson XI at Maidenhead and Bray Cricket Club – entry is free with the game starting at 2pm.
Recently, Taverners supporter and McFly band member Judd, who won Strictly Come Dancing in 2011, visited Gray Nicolls for a tour of their Sussex factory to see first-hand the process of making a cricket bat – a bat that he will be using on Sunday.
The visit came as part of the partnership between the Lord’s Taverners and Gray Nicolls that sees the cricket manufacturer supply the clothing for the celebrity cricket XI and support the activity of the UK’s leading youth cricket and disability sports charity.
Those in action on Sunday include BBC DIY SOS presenter Nick Knowles as well as other names from the world of sport such as former international cricketers Andy Caddick, Chris Cowdrey and Neil Smith with former England captain Mike Gatting acting as an umpire. Rugby stars George Chuter, Gary Gold and Sam Vesty will also be donning their whites to help raise funds and awareness.
Along with the action on the pitch, visitors will also get the opportunity to experience first-hand what it is like to face the bowling of current England stars such as James Anderson and Stuart Broad in the Batfast cricket simulator.
