Denness Luckhurst Foundation golf day a success
The families of former Kent and England cricketers, Mike Denness and Brian Luckhurst, helped raise money for the Lord’s Taverners at the recent Denness Luckhurst Golf Day held at Sundridge Park Golf Club.
The day raised more than £16,000 in support of the Lord’s Taverners and Mercy Ships – taking the total raised by the event over the past three years to £44,000.
The Denness Luckhurst Foundation was established in 2014 by the children of Mike Denness and Brian Luckhurst to raise money for charities in their memories.
Tim Luckhurst said: “Everyone at the Denness Luckhurst Foundation is over the moon with how successful our 3rd charity golf day was. Our supporters and sponsors have again been truly amazing, but to surpass our previous record total is incredible, with over £16,000 being raised. This only happens when lots of people work very hard, so a big thank you to the DLF team. It's also a great way to remember two amazing men, I think that they'd both be so proud of what we've achieved in their memories, and the charities that we're supporting.”
Paul Robin, chief executive of the Lord’s Taverners, added: “We are hugely grateful to the Denness Luckhurst Foundation for once again supporting the Lord’s Taverners which will help us to give even more disadvantaged and disabled young people a sporting chance.”
