Chris Tarrant returns to the airwaves to launch charity partnership

Chris Tarrant is to return to London's airwaves after a nine-year absence with a series of interviews with some of the biggest names from the world of sport and entertainment, including Piers Morgan, as part of a new partnership between the Lord's Taverners and Love Sport Radio.

Morgan and Dame Katherine Grainger are just two of the celebrities put in the spotlight by Tarrant, a supporter and former President of the Lord's Taverners charity, which enhances the lives of disadvantaged and disabled young people through sport.
The Lord's Taverners are now the official charity partner of Love Sport Radio, London's newest radio station with a daily mix of sports news, current affairs and entertainment broadcasting on 558AM, DAB and online.

The Tarrant interviews will officially launch the partnership - and with Morgan passionate about the state of English cricket and his fondness of Donald Trump, and Grainger putting into words her feelings when she won Olympic silver for the third time, there will be plenty of talking points from the interviewees who also include;

" Heather Knight, OBE - Current England Women's cricket captain and World Cup winner
" Kate & Helen Richardson-Walsh - Gold medal-winning GB hockey players
" Ledley King - Former Tottenham Hotspur FC and England player
" Phil Tufnell - Former England cricketer and TV personality
" Iwan Thomas, MBE - Olympian and Commonwealth silver medallist

The first interview with Piers Morgan will be aired on May 26 from 12-1pm, repeated across the week and will be available as a podcast.

Tarrant said "I am delighted to be back on radio, I love radio, always have done and I always will. The chance to work with some of the country's best-known sports stars is always going to be a pleasure and it's fantastic that I've been able to do this while also supporting the Lord's Taverners.

"They are a charity that gives disadvantaged and disabled young people the chance to take part in regular sport and recreation. As a former President and still very much an active member of the Lord's Taverners, they make a huge difference and it's very close to my heart."

Kelvin Mackenzie, founder and CEO, Love Sport Radio, said: "We are delighted to have Chris Tarrant on the station and working with the Lord's Taverners as our official charity partner. It says a lot about how far we have come since launch in March that we are attracting such a great calibre of sporting guests."
