Chelmsford City Racecourse get behind the Taverners
Britain’s newest racing venue, Chelmsford City Racecourse, is showing its support for the Lord’s Taverners in 2019.
As part of the partnership the venue will host a Lady Taverners hospitality marquee on their popular Ladies Day for the Lady Taverners in Essex (one of the charity’s many fundraising arms), that will help raise valuable funds for a local fundraising project.
The marquee has already sold out but general sale tickets are still available for the day via the website. As well as live racing the day will feature a DJ set from Martin Kemp and live music from Five.
This isn’t the first time the Essex based racecourse and the charity have combined, as in 2018 it was the venue for a very successful race night where Laser Electrical raised £20,000 for the charity, which enabled it to donate a new specially adapted minibus to Endeavour School in Brentwood.
Jill Turner, Commercial Manager at Chelmsford City Racecourse, said: “The racecourse is passionate about getting young people out and active and are huge supporters of the work that is undertaken by the Lord’s Taverners. The Lady Taverners have had some wonderful days here at the course which have been great fundraising events for the charity as well as great fun!”
