Charity cricket tournament raises £40,000
The iconic Kia Oval played host to a spirited charity cricket tournament where 150 amateur players took to the pitch in support of the Lord’s Taverners and Surrey Cricket Foundation.
The Berkeley Group hosted a charity cricket fundraiser to raise vital funds for the Lord's Taverners and Surrey Cricket Foundation - both sharing a powerful mission to make cricket accessible to young people of all backgrounds and abilities.
Despite a rain-soaked day filled with enthusiastic dives, missed catches and plenty of good-humoured slips, morale remained sky-high. The final match brought a competitive edge, featuring teams with a firmer grasp of the rules and a hunger for victory. But the real triumph came off the field: nearly £40,000 was raised, to be split equally between the two charities.

Berkeley Foundation, a long-standing supporter of the Lord’s Taverners, has helped expand the reach of the charity’s Super 1s disability cricket programme, which has now impacted over 20,000 young lives. These sessions offer more than just sport - they foster confidence, friendship and a sense of belonging.
The Surrey Cricket Foundation continues to champion inclusivity across the county, working with schools, clubs, charities, and governing bodies to grow participation in cricket. Their commitment to engaging diverse communities is nothing short of inspiring.
This event was a celebration of cricket’s power to unite, uplift, and transform - and thanks to the generosity of all involved, its impact will be felt far beyond the boundary ropes.
