Free Wills Month
This October, we’re excited to offer our supporters the opportunity to write your will free of charge with our partners Farewill, the UK's best rated will writing provider.
The Free Will Writing scheme gives individuals the opportunity to create or update a legally binding will at no cost, with no obligation to leave a legacy gift — although supporters are warmly invited to consider including the Lord’s Taverners if their family and loved ones are provided for. The charity covers the cost of the will, which outside this partnership might typically cost around £100.
By making a provision for the Lord’s Taverners, you could help fund vital programmes across the UK, including:
- Table cricket sets for SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) settings — typically costing £500 per set.
- Super 1s hubs, with two months’ funding costing around £1,300.
- Wicketz hubs, with annual running costs in the region of £10,000.
How the process works
Supporters can use Farewill’s user-friendly online service or speak to their team by phone or email to answer a few questions about their wishes. A Farewill expert will review the draft will, and the client then prints and signs it in the presence of two witnesses. If someone already has a will, they may choose to replace it via this service — after which the new will can be updated anytime through Farewill’s “unlimited changes” feature.

Why this matters
Legacy gifts (those included in wills) are a lifeblood for many charities, providing long-term stability and allowing ambitious projects to proceed with confidence. Through this partnership, the Lord’s Taverners ensures that cost is not a barrier to supporters making their wills — so that planning one’s affairs also becomes an opportunity to think of others.

Get involved
- Supporters can book a free will appointment or begin via the Farewill portal dedicated to the Lord’s Taverners.
- For more complex cases (e.g. living in Northern Ireland or Scotland), Farewill can provide specialist support.
- Questions may be directed to contact@lordstaverners.org

As Free Wills Month unfolds, the Lord’s Taverners and Farewill invite all supporters to plan for the future — and, if they choose, leave a legacy that supports inclusive cricket opportunities for young people across the UK.
