Glasgow Wicketz thrilling tapeball tournament

Recently, our Wicketz hubs in Glasgow celebrated the end of a fantastic outdoor cricket season with a thrilling tapeball tournament held at Myrtle Park in south Glasgow.

Throughout the summer, young participants from various backgrounds and skill levels enjoyed different cricket formats across Scotland, this tournament served to bring participants together to have fun and empower each other through cricket.

The tournament unified teams from three hubs: Govanhill, Pollokshields, and a Kings Park/Coaches mixed squad. Whilst all teams were competitive and eager to reach the final, it was the Kings Park/Coaches mixed squad who were victorious.

The event successfully engaged diverse communities across Glasgow, creating an environment of passion, camaraderie, and empowerment. The older participants acted as proud ambassadors for Wicketz, ensuring a positive experience for all involved.

As winter approaches, the Wicketz hubs are shifting indoors until Spring 2024. If you're eager to join the Glasgow or Edinburgh hubs, please contact Zain Muhammad (Glasgow) at zainmuhammad@cricketscotland.com or Mohammad Afzal (Edinburgh) at mohammadafzal@cricketscotland.com.
