A history of Taverners events in November

The month of November in previous years has seen a variety of events from tribute and event dinners both nationally and regionally, to Masked Ball's, 50th Anniversary Dinners, Balloon Debates, Rugby Legends Evenings and Long Room Concerts.

1 October 1974 The Lord's Taverners Wine & Cheese Party in The Long Room, Lord's Cricket Ground, London.

17 November 1977 The Lord's Taverners Midland Region Luncheon at The Grand Hotel, Leicester.

15 November 1979 The Lord's Taverners Schweppes Cricket Award at Buckingham Palace to Essex CCC County Champions. 

8 November 1982 The Lord's Taverners City Region Annual Dinner at Tower Hotel, London Bridge.

23 November 1985 The Lord's Taverners Thames Valley Region Christmas Dinner at The Little Angel, Remenham, Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire. 

19 November 1987 The Lord's Taverners Chiltern Region Beaujolais Evening at Hughes of Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire.

23 November 1988 The Lord's Taverners Sponsors Party at New Zealand House, Haymarket, London. 

29 November 1992 The Lord's Taverners Western Region Variety Show with Leslie Crowther at Theatre Royal. 

21 November 1993 The Lord's Taverners Oscar Dinner A tribute to Tim Rice.

24 November 1995 The Young Lord's Taverners the Guinness Ball at Simpson's-in-the Strand, London. The toasts and speakers were Martyn Smith, Mark Ramprakash, Will Carling. 

26 November 1999 An Evening with The King's Singers Classical Music in the Long Room. The toasts and speakers were Christopher Lawrence, Alaistair Hume. 

1 November 2000 The Lady Taverners Venetian Masked Ball. The toasts and speakers were Judith Chalmers, Judy Haggas, Karen Noble, Liz Hobbs, Roger Smith. 

20 November 2000 The Lord's Taverners 50th Anniversary Dinner in honor of Patron and Twelfth Man HRH The Duke of Edinburgh KG KT at Savoy Hotel. The toasts and speakers were Robert Powell, Roger Smith, Sir John Mills, Neil Durden-Smith, Sir David Frost, Bob Bevan, John Bromley, Barry Cryer, Sir Tim Rice, HRH The Duke of Edinburgh. 

15 November 2001 The Lady Taverners’ President's Lunch Guest the Rt. Hon. The Baroness Thatcher at the Long Room, Lord's Cricket Ground. The toast and speakers were The Rt. Hon. The Baroness Thatcher, Rachael Heyhoe Flint, Judith Chalmers, Jim Davidson, Tracy Edwards, John Fingleton. 

11 November 2005 The Young Lord's Taverners Winter Ball 2005 Millennium Mayfair Hotel, Grosvenor Square, London W1 Friday 11th November 2005 sponsored by Ladbrokescasino.com. The toasts and speakers were Marcus Buckland and Peter Mayo.

3 November 2006 The Lady Taverners Judith Chalmers OBE Tribute Lunch to Ronnie Corbett OBE sponsored by Len & Carol Hatton and The Surridge Family Friday 3rd November 2006 the Dorchester. The toasts and speakers were Judith Chalmers OBE, Maggie Smith, June Whitfield CBE, Neil Durden-Smith OBE.

5 November 2010 The Lord's Taverners Diamond Jubilee 1950-2010, The Lady Taverners Tribute Lunch to Sir Terry Wogan. The toasts and speakers were Judith Chalmers, The Revd. Canon Roger Royle, Sally Surridge, Neil Durden-Smith. 

19 November 2015 The Lord's Taverners Yorkshire Region Balloon Debate Dinner at the Headingley Carnegie Stadium, Leeds. The toasts and speakers were Tanya Arnold, Nick Ahad, Ruth Whiteley, and Paul Nixon. 

9 November 2016 Lord's Taverners Rugby Legends Dinner at London Marriott Hotel, Grosvenor Square with Sean Fitzpatrick, Bill Beaumont, and Rob Andrew.
