Unlocking Potential Through Cricket sets out our ambition that every young person with a disability or facing socio-economic disadvantage can unlock and achieve their potential through cricket. This commitment builds on the foundation our members have built over 75 years and the transformative progress we have made over the last five years to strengthen our programmes, governance and operations. As a result, we are better equipped than ever to deliver meaningful impact while operating effectively in today’s social, economic and cultural landscape.

This strategy acts as a bridge - connecting our proud heritage with our bold ambitions for the future. It is both simple and ambitious. We want to reach further, achieve more and deepen the life-changing impact of our work across the UK.

Most importantly, this strategy is about the young people we exist to support.

Each year, young people are empowered through our safe, inclusive and free cricket programmes. Over the past 18 months, our inaugural cohort of Youth Ambassadors have played a pivotal role in shaping our future, ensuring that youth voice is embedded at the heart of our organisation.

Isaaq, one of our 13 Youth Ambassadors and the first to transition from Wicketz participant to Development Officer, captures the essence of our mission:

“Cricket gave me the confidence to find my voice - first as a Wicketz participant, and now as someone helping others start their own journeys. Lord’s Taverners didn’t just change my life; they’ve shown that young people like me belong at the heart of shaping our future.”
