Michael Ferndale's Reverse Marathon Challenge

Michael Ferndale will be running five marathons in five different cities in reverse over five days to raise money for the Lord’s Taverners and The Change Foundation in support of disadvantaged and disabled young people...and we're also encouraging schools up and down the country to also take in a reverse challenge of their own.

Michael is no stranger to running in reverse having completed the London Marathon in 2017, but now he’s taking on the much bigger challenge by taking on the 26.2 distances starting on 9 October in Dublin and then on to Belfast, Edinburgh, Cardiff and London.

Throughout lockdown, the Lord’s Taverners and The Change Foundation have been working hard to support disadvantaged and disabled young people across the UK.

Our work to improve the physical and mental health of these young people has never been more challenging or more important. But as we emerge from the pandemic, we are asking schools, clubs and groups to take on a challenge of their own to support some of the hardest-hit children in the country.

Alongside Michaels’ Marathon attempt, schools across the UK will be taking part in a reverse challenge of their own on October 8 – be it running, walking or whatever they choose to ensure it is fully inclusive in a way that suits them - find out more about the challenge and how you can sign up below.

We would like to thank our partners at Parkdean Resorts, the UK’s leading holiday park operator with 67 distinct parks in unrivalled rural and coastal locations, for their support of the challenge.

Schools Reverse Challenge

Are you a school, club or group and would like to be part of a nationwide fundraising challenge to celebrate coming out of lockdown?

Be part of this amazing event on Friday 8 October (or a date that suits you) and raise money for the Lord's Taverners and The Change Foundation.

All you have to do is take part in everyday activity - but in reverse. So that could be running, walking or wearing your clothes back to front. We want this challenge to be fully inclusive, so all children are encouraged to join in a way that suits them.

For more information about the Schools Challenge - download this flyer.

To sign up for the challenge, just click here and enter your details and we'll do the rest.
