Slogging It Ashes Walk - First Leg Completed

The podcast trio began the first leg of their Ashes walk from Tavs HQ on Monday 12 June and 120 miles later, finished at Edgbaston Stadium.

Long term Taverners supporters, Johnno Gordon, Eugene Berger and Simon Roberts began their Ashes walk from Chancery Lane in London on Monday 12 June and finished the day at Redbourn Cricket Club in Hertfordshire 28 miles later.

From there on, the next few days bought along some challenges with "map" issues, however the cricket community provided excellent hospitality with Stony Stratford CC and Napton CC also lending their grounds and facilities to the walkers for their overnight stays.

On Thursday 15, the Slogging It group were welcomed and greeted by supporters at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens before having interviews with Sky Sports News and David Gower later on in the evening at our Eve of Ashes dinner, in partnership with the Bob Willis Fund and Champions Events.

Just before the Ashes got underway at Edgbaston on Friday 16, Slogging It completed the last few miles to arrive at the ground, having completed 120 miles in just over four days.

We would like to say a huge congratulations on completing this first leg and good luck on your next leg to Lord's!
