Statom Ball raises £30,000 to empower young people through cricket
The Lord’s Taverners was proud to be named as a beneficiary of the Statom Ball for the very first time last December, with the incredible event raising £30,000 to support our programmes and help more young people access the life-changing opportunities that cricket can provide.
Organised by Statom and its extensive network of supporters, clients and partners, the evening brought together people from across the business community to celebrate, connect and raise vital funds for several charitable causes.
The event was expertly hosted by former Lord’s Taverners President and longstanding friend of the charity, Chris Tarrant, whose energy and passion helped make the evening a memorable occasion. Guests were also treated to an inspiring keynote address from former heavyweight boxing world champion Tyson Fury, who shared his personal experiences and reflections with attendees, before an incredible performance from Craig David and DJ Spoony rounded off the night.
The funds raised for the Lord’s Taverners will directly support our free and inclusive cricket programmes, empowering young people living with a disability and those from lower socio-economic disadvantage. Through coaching sessions, competitions and community activities, we help young people build confidence, develop new skills, improve their physical and mental wellbeing, and create lasting friendships. The incredible support shown at the Statom Ball will help ensure that even more young people can experience the benefits of cricket, feel part of a team and unlock their potential.
Speaking about the partnership, Lord’s Taverners CEO, Mark Curtin, said:
“We are incredibly grateful to Statom and everyone involved in making the Statom Ball such a success. To be chosen as a beneficiary for the first time was a fantastic honour, and the £30,000 raised will make a significant difference to the young people and communities we support across the UK. It was a truly special evening, and we look forward to building on this partnership and working together again in the future.”
The Statom Ball demonstrated the power of bringing people together for a shared purpose, with guests showing tremendous generosity throughout the evening in support of the charity partners.
As we reflect on an unforgettable night, we would like to extend our sincere thanks to Statom, Chris Tarrant, Tyson Fury, Jonny Gould, Craig David, DJ Spoony and everyone who attended, donated and supported the event.
We look forward to building on this successful partnership and working together in the future to create even more opportunities for young people through cricket.
Thank you, Statom, for helping us ensure that every young person has the chance to participate, belong and thrive.
