Investec Ashes 2015 Cycle Challenge
Support former England cricketer, Darren Gough, and celebrity friends as they take on the Investec Ashes 2015 Cycle Challenge to raise money for the Lord's Taverners!
To mark the 10th anniversary of England’s famous 2-1 series win against Australia – their first since 1987 – the Investec Ashes 2015 Cycle Challenge will see over 100 fundraisers cycle between all five 2005 Ashes venues, starting at Old Trafford on 12 July 2015 and finishing at the Kia Oval on 15 July 2015, via Trent Bridge, Edgbaston and Lord’s.
Goughie, who famously took a hat-trick at the Sydney Cricket Ground during the 1999 Ashes series, will be joined by a number of celebrity ambassadors on the challenge, including former Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham and Stoke City footballer, Matthew Etherington, and former Olympic diver and silver medallist, Leon Taylor.
On the upcoming ride, Goughie said: “I am really looking forward to taking part in the Investec Ashes 2015 Cycle Challenge. I have been training hard in preparation, and having enjoyed many Ashes battles throughout my playing career, I’m now looking forward to a similar one on my bike!”

This will be the second time Investec Wealth & Investment staff have taken on such an epic charity challenge, following the success of the inaugural event in 2013 which raised nearly £300,000 for the Lord’s Taverners and other charities. Goughie and the class of 2015 will be aiming to raise even more funds this year to provide at least five accessible Lord’s Taverners minibuses for special educational needs schools across the UK, enabling young people with disabilities to enjoy sporting opportunities.
