Girls' cricket

The Lady Taverners U13 and U15 indoor (schools) and outdoor (clubs) girls’ cricket competitions have given over 110,000 girls the opportunity to enjoy competitive cricket, many for the first time.

The 2014 finals marked the 11th anniversary of the Lady Taverners competitions, which fittingly boasted an increase of 30% for entries across England and Wales, with 750 schools taking part in each age group.

The competitions provide a framework to play at both an informal and more competitive level, with a clear progression pathway to local clubs and development programmes.

Almost half of the current England women’s squad have developed through the competitions, including Heather Knight, Anya Shrubsole and Sarah Taylor.
