Thank you for your support in 2025

As we begin to wind down our celebrations to mark 75 incredible years of the Lord’s Taverners, it’s the perfect moment to take a step back and reflect on what we’ve been able to achieve together this year and look ahead to the exciting times we still have to come.

Over the past year, we’ve made real progress in bringing our values to life and making our membership more inclusive and accessible. Our 2025 Annual General Meeting (AGM) marked an important point in that journey. The changes we agreed at this year's meeting have helped us open the door even wider, so that everyone who shares our mission to positively impact the lives of young people facing inequality feels welcome and able to get involved in the life-changing work we carry out on the ground all around the UK. The removal of the proposer model, getting rid of the one-off joining fee and making our language more inclusive are rooted in an ethos of building a stronger, more diverse community that reflects the values we all hold dear and ensuring we have another generation of Taverners to take us forward for the next 75 years.

We have also been working diligently behind the scenes and continued heavily investing in our technology infrastructure and have been preparing to introduce a more modern and exciting membership portal in the next year. Our continued digital evolution will provide members the opportunity to have a more intuitive, connected and personalised experience whether they are joining us for the first time or have been a member with us for decades. The new membership platform forms part of a wider ambition to be more digitally enabled and aims to make it easier for our members to both get involved with our work and stay connected with other members.

It’s also been a hugely successful year for fundraising. Of course, the success we have achieved this year wouldn’t be possible without our members being at forefront of all our fundraising efforts. The support received from all around the UK has been incredible, from attending our national and regional events, donating to our campaigns, cheering on (or getting directly involved!) in our challenge events to sitting on our regional committees to pull together some of the most successful events in Taverners history. Every bit of effort, energy and generosity given by our members strengthens our community and ensues we can continue to make a real, positive difference in the lives of the young people we exist for.

In particular, I wanted to take a moment to mention our regional committees who have been putting on their own fundraising events throughout the year. A huge part of this year's success has been driven by these regional events, which are organised by dedicated volunteers who give up their time, energy and expertise because they are passionate about our mission and bringing like-minded people together to support and raise money for our life-changing cricket programmes. Throughout 2025, more than 90 events have taken place across the country, ranging from Plymouth to Edinburgh and creating renewed enthusiasm and momentum for the Taverners community. Beyond the funds raised, these events have strengthened our local connections and brought in new supporters which will help carry us on for the next 75 years and beyond!

Finally, we are very grateful for the generosity shown through the donations to our 75th Anniversary appeal. Focusing in on the direct, on the ground impact your donations help us achieve, together we were able to raise an additional £5,800 through our summer and winter campaigns.

Thank you for your continued support of the charity and we’re very excited for what 2026 has in store for us.

Best wishes,
Rachel Roy
