BLOG! Glamorgan's Dean Cosker gives us an update
Dean Cosker, Glamorgan's left arm spinner gives an update on the current 2015 season with Dean now in his 20th year with the County.
Well here we are just over a month into the first class season and things have gone ok here at Glamorgan CCC.
We have played four LV= County Championship games versus Leicestershire, Surrey, Derbyshire and Kent which have all ended in draws! No losses, which is a huge bonus at this stage of the season.
The playing wickets have been very flat at the SWALEC Stadium this year which has been evident in the scores, with Surrey in particular! Mr Sangakkara was a particularly tough opponent to bowl at especially as the conditions replicated Columbo not Sophia Gardens.
A few of our batters have been in great form scoring centuries (Bragg, Rudolph and Meschede) and it was a welcomed return to our attack for our opening bowling Mr Hogan who always spearheads our efforts.
The game against Kent down in Canterbury was particularly memorable for me as I managed to bat a few overs for my highest championship score and help the team in achieving a well-earned draw . I have no doubt in my mind that it was all due to the new funky Lords Taverners bat grips I am using! Long may that continue!! Congratulations to Michael Hogan in taking nine wickets in the match as well.
Our attentions turn now to the start of the eagerly awaited T20 campaign. As I write this I’m currently on the team bus to the Kia Oval to play against Surrey on their home turf. It is always an exciting place to play in front of 16,000 people plus and hopefully the competition is set up nicely for us as we do possess some very dynamic T20 players.
Colin Ingram and Wayne Parnell have strutted their stuff in the previous IPL comps and Chris Cooke and Graham Wagg are very dangerous in the T20 format for us.
All bodes well for the next few weeks as we enter a very busy part of the season!
