Lady Taverners Girls Under 13/15 Indoor Cricket Competition
The Cambridge County Lady Taverners Indoor Cricket competition was held at Cambridge Regional College where teams of girls competed, representing the under-13 and under-15 age groups, from schools and colleges from around the area. A number of representatives from the Lady Taverners were present and much enjoyed the competition. Particularly rewarding was watching the energy and enjoyment of all the players, the huge improvement of some of the inexperienced sides as they progressed and a real team spirit evident in all the teams. They were all a credit to their schools and to their coaches and the organisers of the competition were delighted that the standard of cricket was so clearly improving each year.
In the under-13 group, the winners of the competition were Kings College School, Cambridge who beat Netherhall in a close final (in only their 2nd year of entering this competition). The U15 competition was won by The Leys who came through unbeaten with a number of outstanding performances (in their first year of entering). Both winners were presented with their trophies and medals by Anna Stogdon (Regional Development Manager) on behalf of the Lady Taverners. We wish both these teams success when they represent Cambridgeshire against 10 other county winners in April at the regional finals.
