Jimmy Anderson's Numbers Collection becomes Taverners official wine supplier
The Lord’s Taverners and The Numbers Collection, by James Anderson, have agreed a partnership that will see the Lancashire & England fast bowler’s label become an official wine supplier of the UK’s leading youth cricket and disability sports charity.
Launched last year by England’s all-time Test wicket taker, The Numbers Collection will be enjoyed by members and guests at various national fundraising events held by the Lord’s Taverners.
To celebrate the partnership, ahead of the recent Lord’s Test against Sri Lanka where he increased his Test wicket haul to 454, Anderson signed up to become a member of the Lord’s Taverners.
Anderson said: “I’m delighted that The Numbers Collection is to become an official partner of the Lord’s Taverners, helping to support their fantastic work. I’m also honoured to become a member of such as well-respected organisation that gives a sporting chance to disadvantaged and disabled young people across the UK.”
The Numbers Collection is related to memorable moments from Anderson’s cricket career to date. Number 11 is the Reserve Blanc, referring to the position he’s batted most at for England, 54 is the Reserve Rose and the number of Test innings he went without being dismissed for a duck and 81, the Reserve Rouge, refers to his highest test score against India in 2014, part of a world record 10th wicket partnership of 198 with Joe Root.
Paul Robin, CEO of the Lord’s Taverners, said: “Hundreds of our members and guests enjoyed wine from The Numbers Collection at our recent President’s Lunch and we look forward to enjoying it at our future events. With our cricket heritage, the partnership with such a prestigious brand while also welcoming Jimmy Anderson as a Lord’s Taverners member, means this is a perfect fit.”
