30th Anniversary Lunch
The Ouse Valley Lady Taverners celebrated the 30th Anniversary of the Lady Taverners in style on Thursday 12 October at the beautiful Woburn Abbey’s Sculpture Gallery. Lord’s Taverners CEO Paul Robin, Lady Taverners Chair, Carole Garner, and Lady Taverners Vice-Chair of Membership and Regions, Carol Robinson, joined 112 guests to mark this special occasion. We are delighted that over £5000 was raised, with all the proceeds going towards the Lady Taverners 30th Anniversary Wheelchair Appeal. There is a lack of opportunities for young people with disabilities to play sport outside of school due to lack of venues, transport, equipment and access due to suitable coaching. This is more prevalent in areas of higher deprivation. We are delighted to have raised enough for five specially adapted sports wheelchairs.
We were also pleased to have Jerry Aldous, Manager of Walnut Care join us with their Lord’s Taverners Minibus. Walnut Care provide high quality, out-of-school-hours opportunities for the children and young people who attend The Walnuts School and their families and a range of support services for families, the wider school community and for those affected by social, communication and interaction difficulties. Great to know that the big green bus is being put to good use.
